The Fender Twin Reverb amplifier has seen action in every imaginable venue. It was launched in 1963 and still remains a favourite to this day. So be it rock, jazz, country or anything else, this is what a clean electric guitar sounds like. It has been described as the cleanest sounding amp in the world. But don’t forget your pedals will add as much dirt as you like.
There have been many variations of this amp but they all use the same valves listed above.
1963 – 1967: The Blackface rated at 85W
1968: Launch of the silver face rated at 100W.
There were manufacturing variations made in 1969, 1970 and then in 1972. The most obvious variation in 1972 was the addition of a master volume control.
