Terms and Conditions

Before purchasing from AmpValves, please read this section on our ‘plain English’ standard Terms and Conditions.

If you require any further information before purchasing, please do not hesitate to contact us. These T&C’s do not affect your statutory rights.

Order Cancellation Procedure

If you wish to cancel your order please email enquiries@ampvalves.co.uk with your order number. Orders cannot be canceled once the item has been dispatched. Once an item is dispatched you must initiate a return once you have received your order.

Delivery

We hold large stocks of all the valves listed on the site. All of our deliveries are by Royal Mail or DPD. They are usually sent “tracked delivery” so you can see the progress of your order. You will be sent your tracking details with your online invoice. If you upgrade to one of the “paid-for” delivery services you will normally be sent them by DPD with the advantage you have control of the delivery for the last part of its journey which gives you far more control.

We always aim to ship the same working day, meaning Monday to Friday, and we usually achieve this. If your order comes in after 2.00 pm, we usually ship the following working day.

Delivery Delays Beyond Our Control

We cannot be held responsible for delivery delays that are beyond our control. Examples would include, but not be limited to snow, strike action, road accidents, high volume periods such as Christmas etc.  Our team will always dispatch orders as quickly as possible, usually within 1-2 working days but please follow the tracking link provided when your order is dispatched for up-to-date delivery estimates.

Courier Unable To Deliver

You will be sent tracking details by email so that you can follow the progress of your order. Make sure you check both your inbox and your junk mail. We would strongly recommend that you download the DPD APP here for UK deliveries which will make delivery tracking much easier.

Our courier company will attempt delivery only twice. It is important that you communicate with the courier to rearrange a delivery day that suits you or for the valves to be left in a safe place or with a neighbour. If they do not hear from you the parcel will be returned to us after two failed attempts.

When the parcel is returned to us, we will re-test all the valves to make sure there is no damage and repack and then await your further instructions.

You can choose to:

  1. Cancel the order completely for a refund (less the delivery and handling costs as outlined below).
  2. or you can pay for a re-delivery fee of £5.00 plus vat = £6.00 . For overseas orders the fee is €7.00 or $8.00. This does not cover our costs but is a contribution towards it.

Shipping at Weekends

We process orders every day of the week including weekends. However, our last collection is Friday afternoon so all orders placed after this are shipped on Monday morning.

Overseas Shipping

We will ship to most overseas countries. However, please be aware that arrival times can be considerably longer than for the UK. Even for Europe, we have experienced 10 day delivery times. So please be patient.

The customer is liable for checking and paying any import duties that may exist in their country.

Packaging for Replacement Valves

The customer agrees to keep the original boxes for any power valves, or agrees to keep a note of the ‘matching number’ on the bottom of the box, in case a replacement valve is required within the 90 day warranty period.

Returns Policy

We understand that from time to time you may wish to return a product to us. We have a 14-day returns policy to enable you to return products to us in appropriate circumstances (see below).

To return your order, please email enquiries@ampvalves.co.uk with your order number and tell us that you would like to initiate a return. All returns should be sent using a tracked delivery service with sufficient insurance to cover the value of the order.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights such as your rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations 2000.

All refunds can only be made back to the original account from which payment was first taken.

No-Fault Returns

If you find you have ordered items from us and made an error, or you just wish to return the goods for any reason, we will accept the return within 14 days of the date of purchase providing that the goods are returned undamaged, unused and in the original mint condition boxes. If there are signs of damage to the valves, the boxes or the box flaps then we will not accept them.

The goods must be in mint condition so that we can sell them on “as new”.

It is your responsibility to return the goods to us at your cost.

Please make sure the valves are very well protected for the return journey. If they are damaged or lost in transit it will be your responsibility to contact your chosen delivery company and claim on your insurance so do make sure you are covered.

They must be returned using either a “tracked” or “signed for service”.  You must also add a large and clearly visible “FRAGILE” label.

There is a flat charge of £9.00 plus vat which will be deducted from any refund. This fee is to cover:

  • the fulfilment fees we are charged by the warehouse,
  • the packing costs,
  • the payment card fees,
  • admin fees,
  • bookkeeper’s fees including refunding the customer, raising a credit note, refunding Stripe payment Gateway and reclaiming VAT paid,
  • the cost for us to retest all the returned valves,
  • restocking the valves in our warehouse and updating our inventory.

We do not refund any fees that you have paid in order for us to deliver the valves to you.

You will then have the option to either receive a refund as described above or a credit against the purchase of other goods, depending on what you require. Just let us know at the time of return.

Please make sure you include your original invoice or a copy so we know who the valves are from.

Faulty Goods

In the unlikely event that you find the product is faulty on arrival (e.g. dead, not working or otherwise faulty) then we will accept the return within 14 days of the date of purchase.

You will then be offered a no-quibble replacement.

Damaged on Arrival

If your goods arrived damaged in the post, we will replace them at our cost. However, you must notify us within 3 days of receiving them so that we can let Royal Mail know about the damage. If the box was damaged on delivery then please send us a photo showing the damage. We will also ask you to return the damaged items to us for testing and matching against our delivery information.

Upon receipt of the damaged items you will then be offered two options:

1.      A full refund.

2.      A like-for-like replacement.

Subject to the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions, AmpValves shall not be liable for any loss, whether direct or consequential, economic or loss of profits or otherwise, arising directly or indirectly out of any delay in the delivery of the Goods or subsequent problems with the valves. If we are informed of the problem we will act straight away to remedy the situation.

Warranty

All our valves are digitally tested in-house before sending to a customer.

We offer the following warranty on our valves: All valves guaranteed for 90 days from the date of purchase subject to the following conditions:

1.      The valves have been fitted and biased (where needed) by a competent technician.

2.      Valves are operated within the manufacturer’s published limits (e.g. not pushed beyond their reasonable operating capacity).

3.      The valves have not been mistreated or the amplifier containing the valves mistreated. Remember valves are very fragile whilst hot and the amp should be moved very carefully when hot in order to protect the valves.

Our liability under the warranty in these circumstances shall be limited to replacing the valves in question as long as the originals are returned to us for inspection.

Installation of our products

All customers install our products at their own risk. Ampvalves (owned by Wealthshare Ltd) can take no responsibility for damage to your amplifier or the risk of fire or death from incorrectly installed valves/valve kits. All valves and valve kits are tested before dispatch but this does not imply or guarantee correct operation in your specific amplifier. If you are in any way unsure how to install and correctly bias your amplifier we strongly recommend consulting and qualified amplifier repairer/technician to install your valves.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability in contract, tort or otherwise arising out of the subject matter of the Contract shall not exceed the value of the Goods purchased and the Company shall under no circumstances be liable to the Buyer for any consequential, indirect or economic loss or damages.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through this website you must be at least 18 years of age. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.

If any part of these Terms is found to be void or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such part shall be severed from these Terms which will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted according to English Law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
