The Vox Night Train NT15H-G2 amplifier uses:

2 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valves.
1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter in position V3.
2 x EL84 matched power valves/power tubes.

This is the valve kit for the Vox NT15H-G2 version which was manufactured from 2013 onwards. It contains five valves. The original NT15H uses only four valves.

About the Vox Night Train NT15H-G2.

This is the second-generation version of the amp and it was produced from 2013 onwards.

It is a pity it says NT15 on the front of the amp and fails to mention it is the G2 version as this results in many people ordering the wrong valve kit. The earlier version only has 4 valves but the G2 has 5 valves.

The Vox Night Train NT15H-G2 is a 15-watt head powered by 3 x ECC83s and 2 x EL84. Intended to be as powerful as it is and portable, the Vox Night Train NT15H-G2 is an extremely popular amp in an emerging niche of “lunchbox heads”.

Featuring two foot-switchable channels, Bright and Girth, and a shared three-band EQ. The Vox Lil Night Train NT15H-G2 offers the complete tonal spectrum; from traditional Vox chime to modern high gain overdrive.

The Vox Night Train NT15H-G2 is ideal for home use, studio use or rehearsals but may struggle with anything bigger than small venues.

Modern features such as the Thick switch which provides an additional gain boost let you make your unique tone. In addition, high-quality digital audio makes this amp versatile enough to use with or without external effects pedals.
