- Awesome tone. The number one priority for any Crate owner has to be the tone of the amplifier. Warm, rich, fat and juicy are the words that best describe the sound from these valves.
- Sustained valve power to make the most of every stage in the amplifier chain. So it is the balance between volume and tone that distinguishes a great valve from a mediocre valve.
- Long valve life. Guitar amps by their very nature have to be built to take a lot of knocks. Long life is also very important when it comes to the amplifier valves themselves.

Details about the Crate V18
First of all, the Crate V18 is an 18 watt, single-channel amp. It uses 3 x ECC83 and 2 x EL84 through 2 x 12” speakers. It features a 3 band EQ plus gain and master volume controls for tone shaping. In addition, a spring reverb gives your tone anything from a light reverb to full ambience.
This amp was designed to produce the sounds of the early British valve amplifiers. The Crate V18 can deliver smooth cleans and meaty overdrives. The simple cathode-biased Class A valve circuit and tone stack make this amp sound awesome whether practising, rehearsing or recording.
