About the Laney GH50L amplifier.
The Laney GH50L is a single channel master volume style head with foot-switchable gain. The Laney GH50L is capable of a huge variety of sounds, from sparkling clean through powerful crunch to full on heavy tones.
This is a really great ‘workhorse’ gigging amp – built to last. As well as astounding tone these heads offer a valve-coupled effects loop and link jacks for slaving several heads together.
The Laney GH50L features four ECC83 valves in the preamp stage (one of which is balanced) and a matched quad of EL34 output valves.
The amp comes with foot-switchable gain, a three-band EQ, volume, presence control and a “Resonance” switch. So it’s all designed to add to your guitar’ tone rather than getting in the way of it. So, everything about the front panel layout says ‘simplicity’.
The only feature which might be new to you is that Resonance Switch. This affects the “damping” response of the amplifier (negative feedback) and hence the bass response.
The back panel of the GH50L also gives you everything you need to interface with your FX board. So you can choose three different modes for the selectable FX loop. A selector switch determines which mode the FX loop operates in, either Bypassed, Series or Parallel.
