Replacement Valve Kit for Traynor Reissue YGM3

Traynor YGM3 Reissue

Looking for great sounding valves for Traynor YGM3 or YGM3 Reissue  amplifier? You’ve come to the right place.

Valves for Traynor YGM3 and YGM3 Reissue amplifiers.

The original Traynor YGM3 and the YGM3 Reissue amplifier use:

  • 3 x ECC83 preamp valves (also called 12AX7).
  • 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter position.
  • 2 x Matched EL84 power valves/power tubes (also called 6bQ5).

Note, the balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter goes in the preamp position furthest from your input jack and closest to the power valves. On the schematic for the YGM-3 this is marked as V2.

We always recommend Sovtek or JJ valves for the Traynor YGM3 amplifier. This is because they guarantee a great tone at a very competitive price.

You can order these singly or the power valves as matched pairs but we always recommend changing all your valves at the same time if you possibly can.

About the Traynor Reissue YGM3 amp:

The Traynor YGM3 is a hand-wired vintage reissue amplifier. It captures the tone, warmth, feel and responsiveness of one of the classic guitar amplifiers. Built using hand-wired point-to-point circuitry throughout, the Traynor YGM-3 uses high-grade fiberglass insulated wire for all connections.

Parts for the Traynor YGM3 Re-issue were sourced from the original suppliers and built to the original design specifications wherever possible. The paper bobbin transformers were recreated for the YGM3 by Hammond Canada, a source for Traynor parts since the ’60s.

Premium polypropylene capacitors, Switchcraft jacks and Accutronics reverb tanks are used just as they were in the ’60s and ’70s. The original supplier even recreated the unique grille cloth used on the original YGM3 for the re-issue.

The Traynor Reissue YGM3 has a Jensen P12Q Alnico magnet speaker that produces a real vintage guitar tone. A premium speaker made using a unique combination of Aluminum, Nickel & Cobalt, the three elements (AlNiCo) that gives the speaker its name.

The 12-inch Jensen P12Q Alnico magnet speaker delivers warmth, character and responsiveness ideal for that ultimate blues, jazz or classic rock sound.

Features:

  • Point-To-Point hand-wired circuitry.
  • All connections made using high-grade braided wire.
  • Jensen P12Q Alnico magnet speaker.
  • Illinois Metalized Polypropylene Capacitors, Switchcraft Jacks & JJ Supply Caps.
  • Valves/Tubes: 4 x ECC83,  2 x matched EL84s.
