Looking for great sounding valves for Peavey 6505 212 amplifiers? You’ve come to the right place.
The Peavey 6505 212 amplifier uses 4 x ECC83 (also known as 12AX7) preamp valves, 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter (V4) and 2 x 6L6GC power valves/power tubes.
Note: V numbers refer to the schematic and not the order of tubes across the amp. Sometimes they are the same, sometimes not. In this case not. Starting from the end nearest the input jack, the tubes are:
V1-2-5-3-4
V4 is the phase inverter and is closest to the power tubes. V3 essentially handles the FX loop.
We always recommend JJ valves for the Peavey 6505 212 amplifier. They offer a great tone at a very competitive price.
You can order these singly or the power valves as matched sets. However, we strongly recommend you replace all the valves at the same time to get the very best power and tone.
So bring back the power and sparkle to your guitar amplifier. Treat yourself to a new set of JJ valves.

The Peavey 6505 212 combo is a 2 channel, 60-watt combo featuring 2 x 12” Sheffield 1200 speakers. The Sheffield 1200 speakers are in a closed back cabinet for plenty of low end. This amp’s foot-switch features Lead/Rhythm channel select and a Reverb On/Off.
A three band EQ offers plenty of control over the legendary 6505 sound while a Resonance and a Presence control allows for fine tuning. The Rhythm channel uses Pre/Post Gain controls and Bright/Crunch switches to provide great cleans to crunch. While the Lead Channel also has Pre/Post gain it is designed to produce heavy distortion.
The Peavey 6505 212 is part of the celebratory collection commemorating 40 years of Peavey (1965-2005). While known as the 5150 Series, these amps became the go-to guitar amps for Rock, Hardcore and Metal bands. This is due to their relentless power, raw tone and their road-proven durability.
