Valves for Mesa Boogie Dual Caliber DC3: The Dual Caliber uses four EL84 power valves/tubes to drive the power section of the amp. This impressive 35-watt unit has impressive headroom.

Meanwhile, the pre-amp section uses no less than six ECC83/12AX7 valves/tubes held by a swing-away valve clamp. Note that one of these ECC83 valves needs to be balanced. Two separate sets of valves are used here to provide the rhythm or lead channel. Effectively this gives you two separate amplifiers in one case.

This is further supported by two complete sets of tone and master controls as well as channel assignable 5 band graphic equaliser.
