About the Marshall JTM1 50th Anniversary amp:
The Marshall JTM1 50th Anniversary is a 1 watt, one channel amp with simple controls. It is powered by 2 x ECC83s and 1 x ECC82. It has just an off/on switch, Tone and Loudness controls.
Although it doesn’t have a lot of knobs, the tonal flexibility with the Tone controls allows you to dial in the sound you want. Without Gain control, the Loudness control dials in the gain as well the volume. For more distortion, turning this up will push the valves more and result in more classic Marshall overdrive.
The Marshall JTM1 50th Anniversary is ideal for home use, recording and rehearsals (although it probably couldn’t compete with an acoustic drum kit). It pays homage to the Marshall tone and aesthetics of the 1960s. Additionally, the output can be dropped from one watt to 0.1 watts for more neighbour friendly volumes.
