Marshall 1974X

Valves for Marshall 1974X amplifier.

The Marshall 1974X amplifier uses:

2 x ECC83 preamp valves (also called 12AX7).
1 x balanced ECC83 for the phase splitter V3 position.
2 x EL84 matched power valves/power tubes.
1 x EZ81 rectifier valve.

This amplifier is cathode biased. There is no requirement to adjust the bias when you change your valves.

Over time, your valves will lose their tone and their power. A brand new set of valves will get your amp sounding like new again. We always recommend JJ valves for Marshall 1974X amplifier. This is because they guarantee you get awesome tone and long life and they don’t cost a fortune.

Remember, JJ is one of only five valve manufacturers in the world. So don’t pay higher prices for valves from the same factory that have simply been rebranded by other companies.

So what does Marshall say about this amp:

The 18w 1974X^TM is a re-issue of the 1974 produced between 1966 and 1968. Just like the original, the 1974X is valve-driven, hand-soldered, with an aluminium chassis, and has a Tremolo circuit.

Its two-channel design includes volume, tone, speed and sensitivity on channel one, the tremolo channel and volume and tone controls on channel two.

The special 12″ Celestion G12M-20 Greenback in the 1974X has been ‘aged’ to get as close as possible to that vintage, worn-in sound of the 1974.

This amplifier is cathode biased so no adjustment required when you change the valves.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently purchased a replacement tube set for my Line 6 DT25 Head amp from Ampvalves.
The website is very user-friendly and makes it easy to find the perfect tube set for your amp.

Due to an error by the parcel service, my shipment did not find its way to me. After contacting the support, I was helped immediately and competently.

The quality of service was truly exceptional and exceeded my expectations. A special thanks to Barry Tyler. Hey Barry, you did a very good job.

The tube set arrived afterwards in excellent condition, exactly as described on the website.

The quality is remarkable. It’s well worth the money for their high-quality tubes. I highly recommend the tubes from Ampvalves.
Also, my amp gives grateful feedback with a wonderful fresh sound.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent place to grab your amp valves. Great choice of valves, amazing customer service and prompt responses to queries via email. I was unsure of the best valves to use for my amp and sound, they gave me great advice. When I ordered the valves I used the wrong delivery option and they even sorted that out for me. Highly recommended.
