The Ampeg SVT-VR amplifier is a vintage reissue of the original SVT from the 1960s and early 1970s. It uses an impressive array of valves to achieve an incredible sound:

• Preamp Stage: 3 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) 2 x ECC82 (12AU7).
• Driver Stage: 1 x Balanced ECC83 and 2 x Balanced ECC82.
• Power Stage: 6 x 6550 matched power valves/power tubes.

The six power valves and three balanced driver valves are located on the lower platform of the amp. The five preamp valves are in the upper section of the amp, not visible until you remove the case.
