The Vox AC30 TB Top Boost from 1978-1985  amplifier uses:

• 5 x ECC83 preamp valves (also called 12AX7).
• 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter (in position V7).
• 1 x ECC82 (12AU7).
• 4 x EL84 matched power valves/power tubes.

Note: The balanced ECC83 goes in the V7 position which is the preamp valve furthest from your input jack.

About the amp

There have been a lot of versions of the Vox AC30 TB so the most important thing is to check that yiu are ordering valves for the correct model and year.

Some Top Boost models used a rectifier valve whilst others used a solid state rectifier section. The other big difference is the number of ECC83/12AX7 inside. Some had five and some had six. If in doubt, check inside your amp before vyuou place an order.
