Best replacement valve kit for Two Rock Studio Pro 35

This replacement valve kit for the Two Rock Studio 35 will get your amplifier sounding better than ever. These superior-quality valves will give you a significant upgrade in both tone and power.

The Two Rock StudioPro 50 uses the exact same valve kit.

This superior kit comprises:

  • 3 x Selected Premium Grade JJ ECC83 preamp valve (also called 12AX7).
  • 1 x Selected Premium Grade JJ ECC81 (12AT7) for the reverb drive in position V2.
  • 1 x Selected Premium Grade JJ Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter in position V5.
  • 2 x Selected Premium Grade JJ Matched 6L6GC power valves/power tubes.

Note: The balanced ECC83 goes in the V5 position which is the preamp valve furthest from your input jack.

We always recommend JJ tubes for this amplifier. This is because they offer a superb tone at a very attractive price. We think these are the best valves/tubes for this amplifier. You can order these singly or the power valves as matched pairs but it is always recommended that you change them all at the same time if you possibly can.

So treat yourself to a brand new set today. Restore the power and clarity to your Two Rock guitar amplifier.

  1. Awesome tone. This is what matters most. The number one priority for any guitarist has to be the tone. Warm, rich, fat and juicy are the words that best describe the sound from these valves.
  2. Sustained valve/tube power to make the most of every stage in the amplifier chain. It is the balance between volume and tone that distinguishes a great valve from a mediocre valve.
  3. Long valve/tube life.  Guitar amps by their very nature have to be built to take a lot of knocks. This is also particularly important when it comes to the amplifier valves themselves.

About this amp:

The Studio Pro range of amps from California manufacturer Two Rock, has been one of their successful lines. The Pro 35 and Pro 50 use the same valve kit. However, you will need a different valve kit if you have the Studio Pro 22.

This amp is fixed bias. This means that the amp can be adjusted using the bias pot next to the valves if you so desire. Two Rock provide the following information:

Bias settings for 6L6 power tubes: .060V to .070V for 35 watt and 50 watt Factory Setting: .064V

User Manual: Here is a link to the User Manual for the Two Rock Studio Pro 35.

Please note, there was an error in the original User Manual for this amp which incorrectly shows the 12AT7 tube for the reverb goes in position V3. The error has been pointed out to Two Rock and in March 2024 they corrected the manual. If you have a copy of the old manual please amend it to show that the 12AT7 goes in the V2 position NOT the V3 position.
