About this amp.

In 2018, Laney gave its very popular Ironheart IRT15H a brand new look. The design is borrowed from the bigger models in the range.

Pre-2018, the original model came with a metal chassis, but the updated version features Tolex covers, a sleeker shape and a new logo. Besides those changes, the IRT15H is pretty much the same. Bearing in mind the success of this amp it’s easy to see why. The tubes are still visible from behind jet-black grilles, and a lovely crimson light floods the interior.

How to replace tubes.

Laney say: “To change a tube, firstly switch off and unplug the amplifier from the mains supply. Wait for the tubes to cool down. Remove the top protective cage by unscrewing the four screws by the side handles. Preamp tubes are protected with a screen can; to remove, push down and twist the can anti-clockwise and then pull up. The tube can now be gently pulled out. Output tubes have a spring clip which grips the top of the tube; unclip this carefully, then remove the tube by gently rocking back and forth. take care when inserting the new tube to make sure all pins are correctly aligned.”
