4 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valves.
1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase splitter position (V5).
2 x 6L6GC matched power valves/power tubes. It has a bias switch if you want to use EL34s).

Why Don’t you sell Mesa Tubes for this amplifier?

The reason we don’t sell Mesa tubes is that Mesa doesn’t make amplifier tubes. They simply buy them from the main five manufacturers, of which JJ is one, and then rebrand them. We think they are overpriced.

However, what Mesa do promise is their valves are perfectly matched and biased so you don’t have to rebias the amp. That’s great – and we guarantee that too, but without the hefty markup because we buy directly from the valve manufacturer.

About this amp:

The Nomad is a very high-quality 55-watt amp offering three channels with six different modes. Each of the channels has two separate modes for each hence the six modes.

You have a clean channel, a crunch channel, and a full overdrive channel. Each channel is extremely usable, as is usually the case with these superb Mesa amps. It also comes with a spring reverb and a solo boost for soloing.
