The MesaBadlander 50 amplifier (both the head and combo) uses:

  • 4 x ECC83 preamp valves (also called 12AX7).
  • 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter (in position V5).
  • 2 x EL34 matched power valves/power tubes.

Note: The balanced ECC83 goes in the V5 position, which is the preamp valve furthest from your input jack. These valves are specifically biased for this amplifier so you do not need to adjust the bias when you swap valves.
