About the Reverb tank
The original Fender Reverb Tank (code 6G15) was an effects unit using vacuum tubes to create a spring reverb effect.
It was discontinued in 1966 and replaced by a solid-state model, with the code FR1000.
It has three controls: Dwell, Mixer and Tone.
The spring reverb unit, or “tank” as it is known, is mounted vertically on the interior side of the front baffle. The tanks were originally supplied by Gibbs and Accutronics.
The unit actually looks like a small amplifier head and since the early 1960s has become the go to device for lovers of surf music.
It’s success meant it went back into production on two more occasions, with each new version using a different set of tubes.
Order your new tubes today and get your reverb tank sounding better than ever.
