Blackstar HT5

Valves for Blackstar HT 5 amplifiers.

The Blackstar HT5 amplifier uses:

• 1 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valve.
• 1 x 12BH7 or 12BH7A power valve/power tube.

Please note that the HT5, HT5R, HT5H and the HT Metal 5 – head and combo versions all use the exact same valves (but the amps are all voiced slightly differently by Blackstar).

Over time your valves will lose their tone and their power. A brand new set of valves will get your amp sounding like new again.

The Blackstar HT5 amp sound is built around the superb 12BH7 power valve.

We offer a choice of either Electro Harmonix or JJ Electronics valves. Both of these valves are highly regarded. Note, the EH valve is slightly taller (57 mm excluding pins) than the JJ version 50 mm excluding the pins). So check the size of your current valve before ordering.

About the amp variations:

Very similar to the HT5, the HT Metal 5 brings a slightly different voicing more suited to Metal players. So the clean channels will sound different. The Metal also has more gain on the OD channel than the HT5. The only other differences are cosmetic.
