- Awesome tone. This is what really matters. The number one priority for any guitarist has to be the tone of the amplifier. Warm, rich, fat and juicy are the words that best describe the sound from these valves.
- Sustained valve power to make the most of every stage in the amplifier chain. It is the balance between volume and tone that distinguishes a great valve from a mediocre valve.
- Long valve life. Guitar amps by their very nature have to be built to take a lot of knocks. Robustness is particularly important when it comes to the amplifier valves themselves.

About the Traynor YCV80 Guitar Amplifier
The Traynor YCV80 is an impressive amp. It features two tone-shaping controls which means a wide tonal range. A ‘Scoop’ switch on the lead channel then adds body for much heavier leads. Meanwhile, the ‘Expander’ switch on channel two equalizes certain frequencies to create clear new rhythm sounds. Note that this impressive feature can simulate an acoustic-like tone which is extremely useful.
A parallel effects loop with separate input and output means you trim pots far better. This means greater overall effects control. The series effects loop between the tube pre-amp and tube power stage give the performer more flexibility over the signal path compared with many other amplifiers.
