The Sovtek 7025/12AX7WA balanced preamp valve can be found in a huge number of amplifiers. It is the favourite of many amplifier manufacturers including Fender who re-brand it as their Balanced Groove Tube GT-12AX7R.
The balanced 7025 is used in the phase inverter position to ensure the power valves receive an equal signal. The phase inverter position is the last one in the preamp chain and is nearly always the furthest from the guitar input jack.

Why choose Russian Sovtek balanced valve over other makes?
The first thing to remember is that there are only five manufacturing companies in the World for valves. The amplifier manufacturers do not make valves. They simply rebrand them in their own name. It makes sense to buy the original valves (OEM) straight from the manufacturer rather than pay extra to get rebranded versions of the exact same valve.
Out selection processes and testing procedures are rigorous and we only sell the finest valves available.
You are guaranteed the best possible tone, power and performance from your amp when you choose these valves.
What is the difference between the ordinary valve and the balanced valve?
The balanced valve is designed to go in the phase inverter often known as the phase splitter. It is usually the last preamp valve in the chain so it is the one furthest from your input jack and closest to the power valves.
The reason you have a balanced valve is so that the power valves receive an equal, or balanced, signal. If you do accidentally get them mixed up it will not damage the amp in any way.
We mark both the box it comes in and the valve itself so you will always be able to recognise one of our balanced valves.
Why every guitarist should have at least one 7025/12AX7 preamp valve as a backup
The ECC83/12AX7 preamp valve is used in just about every valve amplifier ever made. The balanced version
Every guitarist should have at least one brand new spare in the drawer as a backup. When the preamp valves on your amp start to wear out you can then very quickly check to see if one of the preamp valves is causing the problem.
These Sovtek 12AX7WA versions are high grade, robust and very long-lasting. They will work in any amplifier where the prefix starts with the letters 12AX7 (US name) or ECC83 (the European name for the exact same valve).
