Valves for Fender Super-Sonic 60 Head

Fender Super-Sonic 60

Looking for great sounding valves for Fender SuperSonic 60 head? Great – you’ve come to the right place.

Valves for Fender Super-Sonic 60 head version (8 valves) and combo version (10 valves).

The Fender Super-Sonic 60 HEAD uses 8 valves:

  • 5 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valves.
  • 1 x Balanced ECC81 (12AT7) valves.
  • 2 x 6L6GC matched power valves/power tubes.

Note: the COMBO version of this amp uses 10 valves. It has 1 extra ECC83 and 1 extra ECC81. More details on the combo model appear at the bottom of this page.

Over time your valves slowly lose their tone, clarity and power. So change them regularly to keep that amp sounding like it should. We always recommend JJ valves for the Fender SuperSonic 60 amplifier. This is because they guarantee you get an awesome tone at a very competitive price.

Remember, JJ is one of only five valve manufacturers in the world. So don’t pay more for rebranded versions of the exact same valve.

What our customers say about this valve set:

“I just swapped the valves.  It’s incredible. I bought my amp second hand a year ago and it was running with the factory valves.  I was getting a lot of microphony, buzzing and power issues. The difference now is huge!! On the vintage channel, the volume pot is a lot more progressive which a big upgrade for me. And the reverb… oh my god the reverb, it’s stunning. I’m delighted. That amp has become a killer again!  Thanks a lot for all your help and advice as well”.

About the amp:

The Fender Super-Sonic 60 is a 60w 1 x 12 tube combo that recreates the look of the classic Fender amps. So it provides up to the minute tones for today’s guitarist that needs a workhorse amp with classic Fender tones and more besides.

Here’s what Fender say about the Super-Sonic 60.

Super-Sonic amplifiers are the favourite tool of pro guitarists in many different musical genres. Do you love to create glorious Fender clean tones and expressive modern high-gain tones? And all with one no-nonsense tube amp. Well, now you can! The vintage channel is based on two legendary Fender favourites. The awesome burn channel has two overdrive flavours ranging from bluesy to flame-throwing. The Super-Sonic 60 delivers an increase in bass response and fatter tone. So you can fine tune its heavily saturated tube overdrive and sustain without masking the tonal character of your guitar.
