What Valves Does The Orange Rocker 30 Use?

The Orange Rocker 30 uses:

• 2 x ECC83 (also known as 12AX7) preamp valves.
• 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter in position V3.
• 2 x Matched EL34 power valves/power tubes.

Both the combo and head versions use the same valves.

About The Orange Rocker 30.

This Orange Rocker is an all-valve, 30 watt, Class A combo amp. Alternatively, you can buy just the head. The combo incorporates the Orange Rocker 30 head in a high-quality cabinet constructed using 13 ply high-density 18mm birch plywood.

It is loaded with a heavy-duty 12″ Celestion Vintage 30 loudspeaker.

The Orange Rocker 30 amplifier head is powered by a pair of EL34 power valves running in Class A. Valves running in Class A circuitry, though less efficient and generating more heat than Class AB, avoid crossover notch distortion.

Very hi-fi, but it’s a more natural sound.

The Orange Rocker 30 head outputs 30 watts of power. That’s enough for gigging and enough to get the valves cooking without being deafened. The single-stage preamp provides loads of nice clean headroom.

The Natural channel is natural, no eq, no gain, only a Volume pot. The Dirty channel with Volume, Gain, Hi, Mid, and Low EQ. So it has phenomenal tonal range whether pushed into overdrive or turned down.

Matched with the closed-back Orange PPC112 cabinet, the Orange Rocker 30 pumps out the bass with absolute clarity.
