The Orange OR80R amplifier (both the combo and the head versions) use:

• 1 x ECC83 preamp valves (also called 12AX7).
• 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter (in position V2).
• 2 x EL34 matched power valves/power tubes.

Note: If you have the rarer Reverb version of this amp you will also need 2 x ECC81 (12AT7) preamp valves for the reverb.

About this amp.

A very nice amp from the 1970s. Very collectible and very playable. The Reverb version is even rarer and, as mentioned above, required 2 additional ECC81 (12AT7) preamp valves for the reverb. These two valves are the ones closest to the power valves.

These amps were extremely well built and, as result, have stood the test of time.
