About the Mesa Boogie single rectifier:

The Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier Solo Head 50 is a 50-watt tube guitar amplifier head. It comes from a very noble family. First, a bit of Mesa history. In 1999 the Single Rectifier solo hard gave birth to a range of 50 Watt diode-rectified amplifiers. These were the SOLO 50 head, the recto-verb head and the recto-verb combo.

These value-packed single-rectifiers had all the tone and essential features of the dual and triple solo Heads. In summary, they were aimed at giving first-time MESA enthusiasts a chance to own a Recto at an affordable price. Not surprisingly, they became an instant success.

So the next logical step was to incorporate the changes into a new amplifier.
