The Marshall JCM800 Super Bass Series amplifier uses:

• 2 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valves,
• 1 x Balanced ECC83 for the phase inverter (in position V3).
• 4 x EL34 matched power valves/power tubes.

Note: Due to the shortage of EL34 valves around the time of production, some of these amps were fitted with 5881 power valves instead. If this is the case you will normally find a sticker on the inside of the amp that advises you of this. Best to take a quick look inside your amp before placing an order.

You can order these valves singly, the power valves as matched quads or a complete kit. However, we strongly urge you to change all your valves at the same time.

About the amp

The JCM 800 Series was launched in 1981. As the name suggests it was not one amp but a complete series comprising both lead and bass amps.
