The Fender Musicmaster Silverface bass amplifier uses:

• 1 x ECC83 (also called 12AX7) preamp valve.
• 2 x 6V6S matched power valves/power tubes.

Note, some versions of this amp use 6AQ5 (also called EL90 or 6005) power valves. These are much smaller than the 6V6S valve so you need to check your amp before you order. Any questions just get in touch and we can help.

About the amp:

The CBS-era Fender ‘Silverface’ Musicmaster Bass amps (MMB) were manufactured between 1970 and 1982.

These are rapidly being appreciated as fantastic little 12 watts, 1×12” valve combo amps.

They stick to the familiar Fender branding with an open back cabinet, black Tolex, silver grille cloth, ‘Made in the USA’ raised chrome logo, the silver control panel with blue lettering and the iconic red jewel light.

The MMB was originally sold by Fender as a beginner’s bass amp. However, the quality is now appreciated by serious musicians and it has kept its price well.

Yes it’s a smaller amp but the sound is great, it doesn’t take up an enormous amount of room and doesn’t do your back in every time you lift it.
