Replacement Valves for Laney amplifiers
Are you looking to replace your Laney amplifier valves? If you have a Laney valve amp it’s well worth looking after. Old Laney amplifiers that have been looked after can be worth quite a bit these days. So your trusty amplifier may end up worth more than you actually paid for it.
No matter how careful you are with your amp, the valves will only have a life of around 1,000 hours playing time. After that, the sound quality will start to slowly deteriorate. You’ll notice the power drops off and the tone deteriorates. This can be subtle at first. It takes a while before you start to feel your Laney amp isn’t sounding as good as it used to. That’s the time to replace your valves!
Preamp valves can also start to go microphonic or make unusual whistles, pops and other odd noises. So replace your Laney amplifier valves on a regular basis if you want to keep it sounding as good as the day you first bought it. Think of valves, or tubes, like car tyres – they only do a certain number of miles before they need replacing.
